I am using Access 2007 only to test connectivity, since Access 2007 can not modify the table designs in the SQLEXPRESS Local Server. But the SQL Management Studio installation kept displaying a compatibility issue. ![]() I tinkered with SQLEXPRESS 2008,32 bit version, and got it to connect to Access 2007 32bit in my Windows 7 64 bit environment. It seems that installing a local SQL Server in a home PC has not gotten any easier. It used to take hours to get install ORACLE as a Local Server, and get it to work and connect with Access v2. It will be used to practice MSSQL and keep up with the technology, which I learned way back when Windows NT and Oracle 7.x, in a PC with 16MB of RAM and 120MB of hard disk was as good as it got. Which SQLEXPRESS version is compatible with Windows 7 64Bits, with a quad Intel processor?
